Who can participate in the race?
The Bill Gregory Health Care Classic (BGHCC) is a community race in Dalton, and everyone is welcome to participate – regardless of fitness level, age, or group size. You can walk or run at your own pace from start to finish. For general registration, click here!
What races are available?
The BGHCC offers three races: a 10K, 5K, and 2K. The 10K and 5K starts at 8:15 a.m. The 2K starts at 10:00 a.m. near the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Drive in Dalton.
How much is registration for the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic race?
Registration is $25 during Early Bird registration. After Early Bird registration and on race day, registration is $35.
When will the Bill Gregory race take place?
The BGHCC race takes place on April 26, 2025 near the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Drive in Dalton. The Opening Ceremony begins at 7:30 a.m. followed by the Awards Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. and the Closing Ceremony at noon.
Where will the race take place?
All races start and end near the corner of Broadrick Drive and Memorial Drive, Dalton, Georgia.
Why should I participate?
This celebrated annual road race was created to serve as a symbol of our community’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyle changes and later was renamed to honor the late Dr. Bill Gregory who was killed in a bicycling accident in June 2006. Dr. Gregory had a passion for taking care of his patients and promoting wellness and healthy lifestyles. Over the years, the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic has become a beloved community event, as well as an invitation to continue the community work started by Dr. Gregory so many years ago.

What is included in the registration fee?
- Registration for the race includes a commemorative t-shirt and race bib. BGHCC T-Shirts are only guaranteed to Early Bird Registrants.
- To be guaranteed a shirt, register on/before April 12. After April 13, any unclaimed shirts after the race will be available at the t-shirt tent on a first come, first serve.
How will I know if I am registered?
Once your registration has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email that will serve as your confirmation of registration.
Can my entry fees be refunded?
All entry fees for the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic are non-refundable.
Can I transfer my race registration to another individual?
Unfortunately, all races are non-transferrable from one participant to another.

I am getting a “payment failure” error message when trying to register. What can I do?
If you receive an error message when registering it could be because of traveling in an unauthorized country. You may remedy this by processing your registration when you are back in the United States or by contacting us via email at [email protected]
What happens in the event of inclement weather?
The race takes place rain or shine! However, the event may be slightly delayed or canceled in the event of threatening weather conditions. For example:

Where do I pick up my race number?
Save time on race day by picking up your race number the day before the race from 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM in the parking deck at the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Drive. Race number pick up will also be available on race day in the parking deck at the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Drive.
When and where is race number pick up?
Race number pick up is the day before the race from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on race day starting at 6:00 a.m. until 30 minutes before your race near the corner of Broadrick Dr. and Memorial Dr., Dalton, Georgia.
Do I need to bring anything with me to pick up my race number?
To pick up your race number, you must bring a photo ID or your race registration confirmation. A waiver must be signed and on file. If the participant is under 18 years old, the waiver must be completed and signed by a parent or legal guardian.

Is there an awards ceremony?
Yes, the top finishers for the 10K/5K/2K will be presented at the awards ceremony after the completion of all races. Age group awards will also be presented.
How do I find race photos after the race?

Will there be any awards for the children who finish the race?
Yes! Awards for the 2K will include overall male/female as well as awards to top 3 male/female finishers in each age group. Only ages 19 and under will receive awards/prizes.
Race Day
Are any roads going to be closed?
Broadrick Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will not allow any through traffic.
Where can I find public parking?
Can I switch races?
Yes, you can switch races. There will be an additional $5 bib fee to cover the cost of the bib and chip.
t-shirts
When and where do I pick up my shirt?
T-shirt pick-up is only available on race day at the designated t-shirt area.
If I can’t attend the race, can my t-shirt be mailed to me?
Unfortunately, we are unable to mail race t-shirts.
Are t-shirts guaranteed to all participants?
T-shirts only guaranteed to Early Bird Registrations.

How can I volunteer for the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic?

If I am volunteering, what time should I arrive on race day?
All volunteers must check-in no later than 5:45 a.m. Look for the volunteer area near the entrance of the parking deck near the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Dr.
What should I wear to volunteer on the day of the race?
- All volunteers will be given a BGHCC T-Shirt and safety vest (if applicable) upon check-in.
- It is recommended you wear shoes and clothing appropriate for the event and the weather conditions.
Where can I park if I am volunteering for the Bill Gregory Health Care Classic?
Volunteers should park in the designated areas on the Hamilton Medical Center campus or at Dalton High School. Shuttle service will be available from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for those who have parked at Dalton High School. For more information, click here.
What task will I be helping with the day of the race?
Bill Gregory volunteer assignments are randomly assigned unless a special request has been submitted upon registering. Volunteers will receive their assignment upon check-in the morning of the race.
sponsor/Vendor
Will there be any sponsors?
A sponsor space will be available to participants and attendees from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
As a sponsor, how do I qualify for a booth or tent?
Booths/tents are only applicable to those who have met or exceeded the Bronze sponsorship level.
What time can sponsors set up?
Sponsor space set up time begins at 5:30 a.m. and ends at 7:00 a.m. on race day. A site map of each sponsor’s location will be sent one week prior to race day.
Can sponsors break down before noon?
Sponsors can break down before noon; however, Broadrick Drive will be closed from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and will not allow any through traffic.
Will there be volunteers to help with set up?
No. Sponsors must set up their own materials during the designated time of 5:30 a.m. – 7 a.m.
If I am a sponsor, where can I park?
- Sponsor may park in the parking deck at the corner of Broadrick/Memorial Drive to unload. Please note that Broadrick Drive will close at 7 a.m. Any vehicles in the Peeple's Cancer Center parking lot after 7 a.m. will not be permitted to move their car until the race is over at 12 p.m.
- Parking is also available to everyone in the designated areas on the Hamilton Medical Center campus or at Dalton High School. Shuttle service will be available from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. for those who have parked at Dalton High School. For shuttle information, click here.
If I need to unload, will there be a location where I can unload close to the sponsor space?
Yes! Sponsors may unload in the Peeple's Cancer Center parking lot and move their car. Please note that Broadrick Drive will close at 7 a.m. Any vehicles in the Peeple's Cancer Center parking lot after 7 a.m. will not be permitted to move their car until the event is over at 12 p.m.
Are tables and chairs provided to sponsors?
No, sponsors must provide their own tables and chairs.
Can I bring a tent?
Yes. Note that sponsors will be set up in the parking lot and will need to provide their own weights, etc. if applicable.
